Thechoicesinthethismenudependsonwhichviewin
theST90presentationthatiscurrently"active".Themenu
maythereforechangefromoneviewtoanother.Thename
ofthecurrentlyactiveviewisidentiedatthetopofthe
menu.Thescreencapturemaynotshowyouallthemenu
choices.

Beforeyoucanchangethesettingsrelatedtoaview,youmustclickinsidetheviewto
activateit.Thechangesyoumakearebydefaultonlyvalidfortheactiveview.Severalof
thefunctionsofferApplytoAll.IfyouselectApplytoAllyoursettingisappliedtoall

Whenanacousticpulseissentthroughthewater,itwillgraduallyloseitsenergy.The
greaterthedistancebetweenthetransducerandthetarget(s),thegreaterthelossof
energy.TVG(TimeV ariableGain)compensatesforthelossofacousticenergydueto
geometricspreadandabsorption.

ThePing-PingFilteranalysesthehistoricalinformationfrompreviousconsecutivepings
inordertoremoveunwantednoiseandfalseechoesfromtheST90presentation.
