Reverberation time (REVERB)
Initial setting : midpoint
Before sound reaches our ears, it is reflected
(reverberated) i-flany times between he left and right
walls, ceiling, and floor In a large room, sotlnd takes i-nore
time to bounce fi'om one surface to another than in a
smaller room. This parameter lets you control tile spacing
of the early reflections to sinmlate a sonically longer (L) or
shorter (S) room.
The reverberation can be adjusted _+8f_'om S (short, 8)
to L (long, +8) in 17 steps.
The midpoint (0) designates a standard room with no
adjtlstrnent.
Front reverberation (FRONT REVERB)
Initial setting : standard
This setting operates in DIGITAL CONCERT HALL A or B
only. Adjust the amount of reverberations to add to the
fl'ont signals according to tile original reverberations in
the source. To increase fi'ont reverberations, set to "WET";
to decrease front reverberations, set to "DRY".
Screen depth (SCREEN DEPTH)
Initial setting : MID
In a movie theatel, sound seei'_ls to come fi'orY) inside the
image reflected on the movie screen. This parameter
allows you to create the same sensation in your listening
room by shifting the sound of the fi'ont speakers "into"
the screen.
The screen depth carl be set to OFF, MID, or DEEP.
DEEP provides the greatest amount of screen depth.
Virtual speaker (VIR. SPEAKERS)
Initial setting : ON
Allows you turn the virtual speakers ereated by tile
CINEMA STUDIO EX. A, B, C and SEMI CINEMA
STUDIO EX. A, B, C sound fields off or on.
Rear reflection enhancer (REAR ENHANCER)
Initial setting : ON
This is a setup that adds the effbct of a broader sound
ohtained from the sound of the surround channel even
when the surround channel sound is monaural. This
setting operates in CINEMA STUDIO EX. A, B, C and

When ON is set, the ettbct is automatically applied to
sources recorded in Dolhy Pro Logic or Dolhy Digital
[2/1], [3/1] surround channel
When OFF is set, there is no etti_ct added.
Bassadjustment (Gain/Frequency)
Unlike the equalizer in the equalizer menu (which allows
you to individually adjust the overall sound quality of
each set of speakers) these parameters allow you to
individually adjust the tonal quality of each sound field.
@ Press the cursor buttons (_ or _) repeatedly to select
the gain (dB) or fi'equency (Hz).
@ Turn the jog dial to adjust.
Repeat until you achieve the sound you desire.
The gain carl he adjusted _+10dB in 1 dB steps.
The fl'equency can be adjusted tioin 99 Hz to 1.0kHz in
21 steps.
Midrange adjustment (Gain/Frequency)
Adjust as described in "Bass adjustment".
The gain carl he adjusted _+10dB in 1 dB steps.
The fl'equency can be adjusted fi'oin 198 Hz to 10.0 kHz
in 37 steps.
Midrange bandwidth
This parameter lets you adjust the width of the inidrange
band.
"WIDE" provides a wide band centered on tile selected
fi'equenqy, for general adjustments.
"MIDDLE" provides a normal band.
"NARROW" provides a narrow band centered on the
selected frequency, for specific adjustments.
Treble adjustment (Gain/Frequency)
Adjust as described in "Bass adjustinent".
The gain carl he adjusted +_10dB in 1 dB steps.
The fl'equency can be adjusted tioin 1.0 kHz to 10.0 kHz
in 23 steps.
