This receiver is shipped fl'om the factory with the 2 way
remote control system set to "ON". Normally, you call use
the receiver as is.
However, if you want to use this receiver together with
another component that is also compatible with tile 2 way
remote control system, be sure to perfbrm tile fl)llowing
operation to limit response to signals sent from the remote
controls.
To use with the TA-E9000ES
Perform tile following steps to turn OFF this unit's 2 way
remote control system. Also, be sure tile TA E9000ES is
turned on when using this unit.
To use with other components that have the
logo
Turn OFF tile other component's 2 way remote control
system. For details, refbr to the operating instructions
suppled with your other COlnponents.
To use with Sony CD players CDP-CX260 or CDP-
CX88ES
Turn OFF the remote control adapter switch on tile
CDP CX260 or CDP CX88ES. For details, i'efeI" to the
operating instructions suppled with the CDP-CX260 or
CDP-CX88ES.
Also when using several 2 way remote control system
colnponents together, be sure to place them close together
in order to enable proper relnote operation.
I Press SET UP.
2 Press the cursor buttons (< or _) to select "2 WAY
REMOTE".
3 Turn thejo9 dial to select "ON" or "OFF".
Change the command mode of the receiver and tile
supplied remote (RM-TP504) from its default "AV1"
setting to "AV2" in the following cases:
• When you want to change the output floi-n tile 2ND AV
jacks using RM-US104 in tile 2nd rooin (Models of area
code UC only).
• When you want to use 2 Sony receivers in the same
room with the remote.
1 Press SET UP.
2 Pressthe cursor buttons (< or >) to select
"COMMAND MODE".
3 Turn the jog dial to select "AVI" or "AV2".
Notes
• When you change the command mode of the receiver to "AV2",
be sure to change the command mode of the supplied remote
(RM TPS04) to "AV2". For details, see the operating
instructions fur the supplied remote (RM TPS04).
• For details on how to use RM US104, see the operating
instructions fur the supplied remote (RM US104).
Select the color systeln of your TV monitor. You can select
either "NTSC" or "PAL". The def?mlt setting is "PAL".
1 PressSET UP.
2 Press the cursor buttons (< or _) to select
"COLOR SYSTEM".
3 Turn the jog dial to select "NTSC" or "PAL".
Select the color of the on-screen display. You can
select either "COLOR" or "MONOCHROME". The color
of the on screen display is set to "COLOR" by defauh.
1 Press SET UP.
Press the cursor buttons (_ or _) to select "OSD
COLOR".
3 Turn the jog dial to select "COLOR" or
"MONOCHROME".
