Troubleshooting
If you experience any of tile following difficulties while
using the receive1, use this troubleshooting guide to help
you remedy tile problem. Also, see "Checking the
connections" on page 23 to verify that the connections are
correct. Shoukt any problem persist, consult your nearest
Sony dealer.
There's no sound or only a very low-level sound
is heard.
Check that the speakers and components are
connected securely.
Make sure that you've selected tile correct
coi-llporleilt Oil tile receiver.
•"_ Make sure that you've set tile SPEAKERS selector
correctly (see page 28).
Check whether or not a different audio input is
assigned by AUDIO SPLIT.
•"_ Press MUTING if the MUTING indicator is lit.
Tile protective device on the receiver has been
activated because of a short circuit. Turn off the
receiver, eliminate tile short circuit problem and
turn on tile power again.
The left and right sounds are unbalanced or
reversed.
Check that the speakers and components are
connected correctly and securely.
Adjust fl'ont balance parameter in tile LEVEL
IlleIlU.
Severe hum or noise is heard.
Check that the speakers and components are
connected securely.
"_ Check that tile connecting cords are away from a
transtormer or motor, and at least 10 feet (3 meters)
away fl'om a TV set or fluorescent light.
Move your TV away froin tile audio components.
Make sure you've grounded .g SIGNAL GND
terminal.
The plugs and jacks are dirty. Wipe thenl with a
cloth slightly moistened with alcohol.
