F.2.16.2. SPINLAB 600-MV-MB1 PLUG-IN METER BASE ADAPTER
WITH TEST SWITCHES--FORM 3S & 4S METERS
The purpose of this document is to present hookup instructions for in-service testing of CT-metered
installations using the Spinlab 600-MV-MB1 Plug-In Meter Base Adapter for Form 3S and 4S meters.
The 3 different wiring types relating to Forms 3 & 4 meters are addressed:
Form 3S (2 Wire) hookup
Form 3S (3 Wire) hookup
Form 4S hookup
For the purpose of identification of the respective switches shown in the Hookup Instructions, the
following code is used in the chart and the picture below:
ID Identification of Switches
PL Potential Switch on Left
PM Potential Switch in Middle
PR Potential Switch on Right
S1 Current Shorting Switch for Channel 1
T1 Current Test Switch for Channel 1
S2 Current Shorting Switch for Channel 2
T2 Current Test Switch for Channel 2
The specific hookup instructions for the CT Circuit Test and for the Meter Verification Test are
given on the next page for each of the 3 meter circuits. References to A Phase Duckbill are for the
6000 Bird Dog Plus. If you are using the 5000 Bird Dog Plus, then “A Phase Duckbill” becomes
just “Duckbill”.
