4) Ensure that the fuse rating suits the power supply.
a) The fuse is fitted in a fuse holder below the on/off switch on the rear of the unit.
b) An antisurge (T) 2A HBC fuse is fitted.
c) To access the fuse, prise the fuse holder open with a screwdriver blade.
3.3.2. 12V SUPPLY OPERATION (WITH OPTIONAL 30005-0 PSU)
1) For mobile use, the Setaflash Series 3 can be operated from a 12Vdc car battery via the Seta
30005-0 Power Supply.
2) Set both the voltage selectors to 220Vac.
CAUTION: THE VOLTAGE SELECTORS MUST BE SWITCHED TO 220V OPERATION BEFORE
SWITCHING SETAFLASH ON, OTHERWISE THE INSTRUMENT MAY BE
PERMANENTLY DAMAGED:
3) Ensure that the fuse rating suits the power supply. The fuse is fitted in a fuse holder below the
on/off switch on the rear of the unit. To access the fuse, prise the fuse holder open with a
screwdriver blade. An antisurge (T) 2A HBC fuse is fitted.
4) Connect the 30005-0 Power Supply to the Mains Input Connector on the rear of the instrument.
5) Connect the 30005-0 Power Supply to the 12Vdc supply.
3.4. GAS SUPPLY
3.4.1. GAS CANISTER
WARNING THE FOLLOWING SAFETY PROCEDURES MUST BE OBSERVED WHEN HANDLING
THE GAS CANISTER :
(1) ONLY USE BUTANE GAS
(2) REMOVE THE CANISTER FROM THE TESTER WHEN NOT IN USE FOR
EXTENDED PERIODS.
(3) DO NOT PUNCTURE OR DISPOSE OF THE CANISTER IN A FIRE NOR
EXPOSE IT TO HEAT OR HIGH TEMPERATURES.
(4) AVOID DIRECT CONTACT WITH ACIDS OR SOLVENTS.
1) The pilot and test gas jets are fuelled by a small rechargeable butane gas canister mounted in a
holder on the rear of the Setaflash Series 3.
2) The canister when full contains 11.5 ± 1.0g butane at a pressure of 350kPa (@ 21°C).
3) The flow rate is adjustable between 0 and 20g/hour.
4) A full gas canister should be sufficient to carry out 90 minutes of testing.
