4. OPERATION

4.1. SAMPLE PREPARATION
WARNING: KEEP CONTAINERS CLOSED WHEN NOT IN USE. DO NOT MAKE A TRANSFER
UNLESS THE SAMPLE TEMPERATURE IS AT LEAST 10°C BELOW THE EXPECTED
FLASH POINT.
CAUTION: INCORRECT RESULTS MAY BE OBTAINED IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN TO
AVOID THE LOSS OF VOLATILE MATERIAL FROM THE SAMPLE.
1) Samples should be stored in a clean, leak proof, tightly closed container suitable for use with the
sample under test.
2) For best results and safety the sample container should be at least 85-95% full.
4.2. INSTRUMENT PREPARATION
4.2.1. SAMPLE CUP ‘O’ RING CHECK

Check that the correct ‘O’ Ring
Seal is fitted.
Wipe the Sample Cup clean,
close (3) and lock (4) the Lid.
Unlock [1] and open [2] the
Sample Cup Lid.
RED: All samples
except Jet A1/
Aviation Fuels and
kerosines
BLACK: Jet A1/
Aviation Fuels and
kerosines only.
Do not use for
temperatures
above 110
