Notes on cleaning:
Remove the dirt and accumulated
deposits using a brush, a damp cloth or
a stick – do not use aggressive cleaning
agents. STIHL recommends the use of
a special cleaner (e.g. STIHL special
cleaner).
Never spray water onto the handlebar,
engine components, seals or bearing
points. This would result in expensive
repairs.
Engine:
Remove dirt from the cooling ribs, fan
wheel, area around the air filter,
exhaust, etc. to ensure that the engine
is adequately cooled.
Gearbox housing, chassis and hoes
can be cleaned using a water jet or
high-pressure cleaner.

Place the transport wheel in the working
position. (Ö 12.4)
Place the machine in a horizontal,
stable position.
Unscrew oil dipstick (1) and read off the
oil level on the dipstick.
Oil level between the MIN and MAX
markings:
Oil level in gearbox OK
Oil level above MAX marking:
Drain gearbox oil
Oil level under MIN marking:
Top up gearbox oil
Changing the gearbox oil:
Place a suitable oil collecting container
under the machine.
Avoid damage to the machine!
When using a high-pressure
cleaner, maintain a distance of at
least 1 m and never direct the
water jet directly at bearing points,
drive shaft or seals – especially the
seal between the gearbox housing
and guard plate.
Risk of injury!
The machine can tip over
unexpectedly - ensure that it is
stable. Stabilise the machine with
the help of a second person if
necessary.
