Fault:
Engine not starting
Possible cause:
On/Off switch set to Off position
No fuel in tank; blocked fuel line
Inferior, dirty or old fuel in tank
Spark plug socket detached from spark
plug; ignition lead not properly fastened
to socket
Dirty or damaged spark plug; incorrect
electrode gap
Dirty oil bath air filter
Engine flooded due to several starting
attempts
Remedy:
Set On/Off switch to On position (Ö 8.1)
Fill fuel tank (Ö 7.17);
Clean fuel lines (#)
Use fresh, good quality fuel (unleaded
petrol) (Ö 7.17);
Clean carburettor (#)
Connect spark plug socket ();
Check connection between ignition lead
and socket (#)
Clean/replace spark plug (), (#);
Adjust electrode gap (#)
Clean/replace oil bath air filter (), (#)
Remove spark plug and dry, set On/Off
switch to Off position and pull recoil
starter rope repeatedly with the spark
plug removed ()

Starting problems or deteriorating engine
power

Water in fuel tank and carburettor;

Oil level in engine too low
