26 Installation Examples
Divided mowing area with a pond and a free-standing tree:
– Docking station: Location (1) next to the house (A)
– Restricted area: Installation around the free-standing tree,
based on a linking section installed at right angles to the
perimeter of the mowing area.
– Pond: Clearance from the perimeter wire (2) to the
pond (B): 3.3 ft. (1 m)
– Wire clearances:
– Clearance from obstacles which can be travelled on,
such as patios and paths with a maximum height
difference between lawn area and obstacle of +/- 0.4 in.
(1 cm): 0 in. (0 cm)
– Clearance from high obstacles: 11 in. (28 cm)
– Clearance around the tree: 11 in. (28 cm)
– Clearance from the pond: 3.3 ft. (1 m)
– Confined area: Installation of a corridor (3) with a wire
clearance of 9 in. (22 cm).
– Search loops: Installation of two search loops (4) with a
minimum distance from the corridor entrance of 6.6 ft.
(2 m) for using the drive home function. Note the minimum
clearance from corners, @ 11.9.
– Programming: Define the total size of the mowing area,
program two starting points (5) (close to the docking
station and in the corner near the pond) – starting
frequency 2 of 10 operations in each case.
– Points to note: Unmowed areas, e.g. around the pond,
must be mowed manually or cut with a suitable trimmer or
other tool.
