Removing
SUP706with

Soakmodelsina2-percentsolutionofcausticsoda(sodiumhydroxide)and
sodimmetasilicate(Na

SiO
3
)toremovesupportmaterial.Theamountoftime
yousoakthemodelinthesolutiondependsonhowdelicateitisandhow
muchsupportmaterialneedstoberemoved.Rinsethemodelthoroughly
underrunningwaterafterwards.
SUP706willdissolveintothecausticsodaandsodiummetasilicate
solutionandsaturateit,reducingitseffectiveness.Replacethesolution
whentheSupportmaterialreaches20%ofthesolution(after
approximatelyonemonthofaverageuse).
Warning
Causticsodamaycausechemicalburns,scarringandblindness.Mixingit
withwatergeneratesheatthatcouldigniteothermaterials.Neverpour
waterintocausticsoda.Whendilutingthesolution,alwaysaddcaustic
sodatowater.Takeadequatesafetyprecautions;alwaysusenitrile
gloveswhenhandlingcausticsodaandmodelssoakedinit.
Post-Printing Treatment for Models Made with VeroClear
ModelsmadewithVeroClear(RGD810)haveaslightyellowtintwhen
removedfromtheprinter.Thisisespeciallytrueformodelsprintedwitha
glossyfinish.Theyellowtintfadesnaturallyovertime,butyoucangreatly
acceleratethisprocessbyusingasuitablephotobleachingtreatment.
Asarule,bestclarityisachievedwhenpartsareprintedwithamattefinish,
andtreatedasexplainedbelow.
Photobleachingmodelsinvolvesexposingthemtolight.Toachievehighly
controlledandpredictableresults,aprofessionalilluminationchamberis
recommended.However,adequateresultsmaybeobtainedusingordinary
desklampsfittedwithsuitablefluorescentelements.
