How to troubleshoot a Sullair Air Compressor that will not start?
    • C
      clarkejasonAug 3, 2025
If your Sullair Air Compressor won't start, here's what to check: * Ensure the main disconnect switch is closed. * Replace any blown line fuses. * Reset the control transformer fuse; if problems persist, inspect the motor starter contacts. * If motor starter overloads are tripped, check the voltage; if it's low, contact your power company.

Why Sullair Air Compressor will not build up full discharge pressure?
    • A
      Amy HinesAug 8, 2025
If your Sullair Air Compressor isn't reaching full discharge pressure, consider these potential issues: * Air demand is too high: Check service lines for leaks or open valves. * Dirty air filter: Look for a filter maintenance message on the Supervisor™ panel and replace or clean the element if needed. * Pressure regulator out of adjustment: Adjust the regulator according to the control adjustment instructions in the Maintenance Section. * Defective pressure regulator: Check the diaphragm and replace it if necessary (kit available). * Broken Sullicon spring: Replace it.

What causes excessive fluid consumption in a Sullair Air Compressor?
    • D
      Deborah WagnerAug 18, 2025
If your Sullair Air Compressor is using too much fluid, check the following: * Clogged return line strainer or orifice: Clean the strainer (screen with o-ring replacement kit available) and clean the orifice. * Separator element damaged or not functioning properly: Check separator differential (plugged) dP1. * Leak in the lubrication system: Inspect all pipes, connections, and components. * Excess fluid foaming: Drain and change the fluid. * Fluid level too high: Drain excess fluid.

Why does line pressure rise above unload P2 pressure setting on the Supervisor™ in my Sullair TS20C Air Compressor?
    • D
      dawn98Aug 22, 2025
If the line pressure in your Sullair Air Compressor goes above the unload P2 pressure setting on the Supervisor™, possible causes include: * Leak in control system: Check for leaks causing loss of pressure signals. * Defective solenoid valve: Check that the Sullicon control lever moves to the unload stop when the Supervisor™ is in NO LOAD mode. Repair or replace if needed (kit available). * Defective blowdown valve: Make sure sump pressure exhausts to the atmosphere in the OFF LOAD mode. Repair or replace if necessary (kit available). * Ruptured Sullicon control diaphragm: Replace it. * Plugged control line filter: Clean or repair if necessary.

What to do if the pressure relief valve opens repeatedly on a Sullair Air Compressor?
    • E
      Eric MathewsAug 28, 2025
If the pressure relief valve on your Sullair Air Compressor opens repeatedly, it's likely due to a defective pressure relief valve. Replace the pressure relief valve.

What to do if Sullair TS20C Air Compressor shuts down with air demand present?
    • A
      ashleyhortonNov 12, 2025
If your Sullair Air Compressor shuts down while there's still air demand, possible causes include: * Loss of control voltage: Check the incoming power. * Low incoming voltage: Inspect control fuses and wiring and consult your power company. Note: The Sullair Supervisor™ will indicate most maintenance problems if control power hasn't been lost, and shutdowns will occur upon a faulty condition or a bad sender condition. * Excessive operating pressure: Verify the maximum P2 pressure setting. If the HIGH PRESS P1 display is on, the Max P1 pressure may be set too low. Consult the factory for recalibration and repair if defective. * HIGH TEMP T1 or T3 Message Displayed: Check for restricted cooling airflow, high ambient temperature, low fluid level, clogged fluid filter, or a malfunctio...
