INSPECTION
Inspect the removed parts for the following abnormalities.
If
any
damages are found, replace the respective part with a new
one.
* Steering race wear and brineliing.
* Bearing wear or damage.
* Abnormal bearing noise.
* Distortion
of
steering stem or handlebar.
•
Remove
the
steering
stem
lower
bearing
using a
chi:::,el.
A CAUTION ]
Replace the removed bearing with a new one.
• Drive out the steering stem upper and lower bearing races
using the special tools.

REASSEMBLY
AND
REMOUNTING
Reassemble and remount the steering stem
in
the reverse order
of removal
and
disassembly.
Pay
attention
to
the
following points.
BEARING RACES
• Press
in
the upper and lower bearing races using the special
tools.
