5-4 FUEL SYSTEM AND THROTTLE BODY
FUEL PRESSURE INSPECTION
• Lift up the fuel tank by removing the fuel tank mounting bolt.
(5-3)
• Place a clean rag under the fuel feed hose 1.
• Remove the fuel feed hose 1.
• Install the special tools between the fuel pump and fuel deliv-
ery pipe.
 09915-74511: Oil pressure gauge (600 kPa)
09940-40211: Fuel pressure gauge adaptor
09940-40220: Fuel pressure gauge attachment
• Turn the ignition switch ON and check the fuel pressure.
 Fuel pressure: Approx. 294 kPa (2.94 kgf/cm
2
, 41.8 psi)
If the fuel pressure is lower than the specification, inspect the
following items:
* Clogged fuel mesh filter
* Pressure regulator
* Fuel pump
If the fuel pressure is higher than the specification, inspect the
following items:
* Fuel pump
* Pressure regulator

A To fuel pump
B To fuel delivery pipe
* Before removing the special tools, turn the ignition
switch OFF position and release the fuel pressure
slowly.
* Gasoline is highly flammable and explosive. Keep
heat, sparks and flame away.
