1. General
The cooker hood has a central role in the
home ventilation system. It is important
that the cooker hood efficiently and quietly
removes cooking odours.
Thanks to their design with elegant and dis-
tinct lines, all the Swegon CASA cooker hoods
elegantly blend in as part of the furnishings in
a modern kitchen. In the design of the cooker
hoods, we focused especially on user comfort,
and have prioritised smooth surfaces inside
the hoods, making them easy to clean. The
stainless steel grease filters are easy to clean.
The lighting in the cooker hoods consists of
maintenance-free LED armatures (4000 K).
2. Control technology
Smart & Premium
Swegon CASA Premium cooker hoods can be
used for controlling ventilation units equipped
with Smart and Premium control technology.
EC-power roof ventilator
The Swegon CASA Smart cooker hood can
control a power roof ventilator equipped with
an EC fan.
3. Installation
Take the cooker hood out of the carton and
check that it is not damaged. A defective
product must not be installed and must not
be put into operation.
While installing the product, you should
protect the cooker, for example by covering it
with cardboard taken from the cooker hood
packaging. Handle the cooker hood with care
while installing it.
All cooker hoods are equipped with an electric
plug, that functions as a main switch. The wall
outlet for electrical connection to a cooker
hood should be placed at an easily accessible
location. A double wall outlet is required if
Safera safety technology is installed.
Connect the cooker hood with a modular
cable to a ventilation unit with Smart or
Premium control technology. If the modular
cable is lengthened within some building
element (such as a wall), the cable should
be lengthened in a20 mm dia. tube as a
precaution in case the need should arise to
replace it in the future.
If the cooker hood is to control a ventilation
unit or a power roof ventilator with ILVA
transformer technology, the control and pow-
er supply cables should be wired according to
the installation instructions for the ILVA-box.
3.1 Blues
The Swegon CASA Blues cooker hood can be
installed in an upper kitchen cupboard using
the fasteners supplied with the hood. A duct
cover is available as an accessory for wall
mounting.
Installation under a kitchen cabinet
Prepare the cooker hood for installation by
fastening the four edge pieces (from the
material bag) as shown in the illustration
below. Fasten the edge pieces with screws
to the edges of the cooker hood on both
sides, positioning them appropriately with
regard to the spice rack and the kitchen
cabinets.
Secure the cooker hood to the wall and to
the adjacent upper cupboard. Be sure to
position the cooker hood horizontally. The
safety clearance between cooker hob and
cooker hood's grease filter should be at
least 500 mm. Above a gas hob unit, the
safety clearance should be 650 mm.
