4. Commissioning
The cooker hood is ready for use directly
after it has been installed, if the kitchen's
general ventilation is not performed via
the cooker hood.
The kitchen should have a separate extract air
register for general ventilation. The kitchen's
general ventilation must not be performed via
the cooker hood's damper if the hood's duct
is connected to the ventilation unit's separate
extract air duct.
On delivery, all the damper holes for basic
airflow are covered. The holes in the damper
should be opened if you want to use a basic air-
flow through the cooker hood. You can adjust
the basic airflow to the required rate by opening
the necessary number of holes in the damper.

lation in the "Technical data" section.
The airflow is obtained by measuring the
differential pressure in the flow-adjusting
damper inside the cooker hood and in the
diagram read the airflow that corresponds
to the appropriate adjustment position.
Measure the pressure in the hole next to the
flow-adjusting damper arm as shown in the
illustration below.
The boosted airflow is also measured in the
damper holes. After measurement, the holes
can be blanked off with the extra plugs
included in the supply.

Balancing the ventilation
It is important when using a cooker hood to
balance the home’s ventilation, as increased
extract air flow from the cooker hood causes
negative pressure in the apartment. Balancing
occurs automatically when the cooker hood is
connected to the Smart ventilation unit. The
cooker hood function is commissioned and
trimmed with the Smart ventilation unit.
Using the power roof ventilator
Swegon CASA Smart cooker hood can control a
power roof ventilator equipped with an EC fan.
Connect the EC-power roof ventilator and
cooker hood with the accessory ITK03-control
cable (refer to the Wiring diagram)
The factory setting for the cooker hood’s
control of the power roof ventilator is forced
control, without OFF mode. OFF mode is
activated through programming from the
cooker hood’s user interface. When OFF mode
is used, the power roof ventilator is switched
off and all signal lamps for indication of the
ventilator speed go out when the ventilator
speed selector is pressed a fourth time.
Programming OFF mode:
• Setting mode is activated by pressing and
holding the ventilator speed button and
the cooker hood damper control button
simultaneously => the middle signal lamp
that indicates ventilator speed comes on to
indicate setting mode has been activated.
• Flashing LEDs indicate the selection of ON/
OFF mode for the ventilator speed. The
selection is changed by using fan speed
selection and damper control buttons:
- fan speed OFF the right-hand signal
lamp flashes
- fan speed ON the left-hand signal
lamp flashes
• The selection is acknowledged by pressing
and holding control of the cooker hood’s
lighting for some time.
Important
!!
If the cooker fan is operated at the same
time as a fireplace, heating stove, gas
hob unit, wood/oil burner or the like is
in use, make sure that enough air is sup-
plied to the room.
