Heat Exchanger
The heat exchanger (Figure 4.7) consists of a
fan, a radiator, a water reservoir, a pump, a
temperature switch, and a flow switch.
The fan blows cool air through the radiator.
The radiator exchanges heat between the water
and air.
The water reservoir holds additional water that
may be required by the system.
The pump circulates the water through the
system.
The temperature switch detects over-tempera-
ture conditions, which could be caused by
failure of the fan.
The flow switch detects lack of flow, which
could be caused by failure of the pump or a leak
or blockage in the system.
