Suggestions
•
Jarring
your
hard
disk
can
cause
its
recording heads to bump
against
the
highly polished surface of
the
recording media,
destroying stored data. Such
jarring
can easily happen when
you
move your
hard
disk drive.
SHIPTRAK moves
all
your
hard
disk's recording heads onto
the innermost tracks where information is not stored, and
where such inadvertent bumping cannot destroy data.
• Always use SHIPTRAK before relocating your
hard
disk or
anytime you
think
it
might
be bumped or jiggled.
• After
running
SHIPTRAK, immediately
turn
off
the
system.
Wait
at
least 15 seconds before
turning
on
the
power again.
•
Your
hard
disk is a precision instrument, built to extremely
close tolerances. Always handle
it
very carefully, even after
parking
its
heads
with
SHIPTRAK.
