5. CALIBRATION
Using the calibration strip
Every instrument comes with a calibration strip. It is to be used to make sure that the instrument
is working properly. First change the strip type to URS-11. Then run the strip. Compare the
results with those in the calibrator strip box. They should match exactly.
Before everyday use, the apparatus should be checked once with the calibration strip to ensure
the accuracy of test results. In the test, put the standard strip into the reagent strip rack directly,
do not use any reagent or urine, the operation step is the same with that of the testing strip. If the
test result is totally the same with the standard value adhered to the standard strip kit, it indicates
that the apparatus works normally. If not, use the reserve standard strip to test the apparatus
again.
The calibrator strips should be maintained clean. Do not wash with any
liquids.
The test result of the standard strip can only be regarded as a basis for
whether the apparatus works normally or not, and can’t be regarded as a normal
control.
