Lubrication and Servicing
8-9
EVERY 250 HOURS OF OPERATION (MONTHLY)
Oil Can Points - Lubricate working parts with engine oil.
General Inspection - Check the entire machine for leaks, loose bolts and nuts or damaged parts. Examine the
machine, particularly the chassis, for cracks or broken welds. Repair where necessary.
Engine Air Intake - Check the air intake system for wear points or damage to piping, loose clamps and leaks.
Parking Brake - Check pads and disc for wear. Adjust or replace if required. Test for correct function. Friction
material thickness should never be allowed to wear below 3 mm (0.12 in).
EVERY 500 HOURS OF OPERATION (3 MONTHS)
Differentials - Check oil level and add if low.The correct oil level is up to the rim of the oil filler and level-check
hole. Refer to relevant differential section within the maintenance manual for specific details.
Planetaries - Check oil level and add if low. Oil level should be at the lower bottom edge of the thread, with the
wheel hub orientated so that the oil drain plugs are positioned horizontally in the middle of the axle. Refer to
relevant planetary section within the maintenance manual for specific details.
EVERY 2000 HOURS OF OPERATION (ANNUALLY)
Hydraulic Oil Tank - Drain oil, remove and clean filter screen assemblies. Reinstall filter screens and refill the
tank.
Hydraulic Oil Filter - Clean the filter housing and install a new element when the filter restriction gauge reads
in the red zone, or after 2 000 hours of operation, whichever comes first.
Drive lines -Visually check low maintenance drive lines for leaking or damaged seals.
NOTICE: Low Maintenance drive lines can be identified by having plugs fitted to the spiders, not grease nip-

Multi Disc Brakes - Check operation and brake wear is within the prescribed limit. Refer to maintenance man-
ual Section 160-0030 for details
Differentials - Drain oil and refill. Perform oil change when oil is warm. For specific details of oil fill and drain
plug locations, refer to the relevant differential section contained within the maintenance manual for details.
Planetaries - Drain oil and refill. Perform oil change when oil is warm and simultaneously with the differential.
For specific details of oil fill and drain plug locations and steps, refer to the relevant planetary section contained
within the maintenance manual for details. Re-torque fill and drain plugs to 55 Nm (40.5 lbf ft.)
