Constant power mode
In constant power mode the current in the monitor diode (= the optical output power)
is kept constant. Thermal changes of the active zone of the laser do not entail a
change of the output power, however, a change of the central wavelength.
Attention
Should in constant power mode some lasers fail in a laser bar or
laser stack, a laser current runaway may happen without being
recognized, leading to more and more destruction in the laser pile.
Therefore, we urgently recommend to set the limit value for the laser
current carefully.
NOTE
For "constant power" mode a monitor diode is required.
