Amputee Adapters
Amputee adapters serve to locate the camber plugs behind the rear of the wheelchair. Positioning the camber plugs behind
the rear of the chair shifts the center of gravity rearward and increases the stability of the chair. Figure 9-5 shows the
conguration when amputee adapters are used.
You can adjust the rear seat height and center of gravity, and you can replace the camber plugs by following the procedures
and using the tools in Chapter 8: Axle Plates and Camber Plugs (Center of Gravity; Rear Seat Height).
