Can not get a network connection
Make sure you are using a Router and not a Modem.
You can only establish a connection by using the Network cable
directly to the Topfield unit OR by using a USB wireless dongle.
You are using a 3rd part USB wireless dongle.
Your router settings are not set up correctly in the Topfieldunit.
Check connection of Ethernet cable and USB wireless dongle,
making sure they are a tight fit in the socket.
Restart Router and try again.
Can not connect my external HDD
Make sure external HDD is formatted in NTFS, then reformat-
ted to the system when it is connected. This will ensure that the
hard drive is ready to use and the full capacity is available.
The HDD must not be more then 1000 GB (1 TB).
You must make sure that the external HDD is self powered.
Can not see the time shown on the front of the Topfield unit
This can be adjusted in the Settings > Miscellaneous > Standby Mode,
from Passive to Active.
My Topfield recorder doesn’t go to standby after instant recording
When an instant recording has been activated the recorder will need
to stay on until the recording finishes.
To place the recorder into standby after the recording has finished
press the Power button on the remote control during a recording
and the following message will be displayed “RECORDER NOT FIN-
ISHED, DO YOU WANT TO POWER OFF?”.
Move the green tab to YES and leave the recorder uiON, but do not ex-
ecute the function. The television may be turned off and the recorder
will go into standby (sleep mode) when the recording has finished.
