CheckingtheReel-to-Bedknife

Eachdaybeforeoperatingthemachine,checkthe
reel-to-bedknifecontact,regardlessifthequalityofcut
hadpreviouslybeenacceptable.Theremustbelight
contactacrossthefulllengthofthereelandbedknife;
refertoAdjustingtheReeltoBedknifeintheCutting
UnitOperator’sManual.
Break-inPeriod
RefertotheEngineManualsuppliedwiththe
machineforoilchangeandmaintenanceprocedures
recommendedduringthebreak-inperiod.
Only8hoursofmowingoperationisrequiredforthe
break-inperiod.
Sincethersthoursofoperationarecriticaltofuture
dependabilityofthemachine,monitoritsfunctions
andperformancecloselysothatminordifculties,
whichcouldleadtomajorproblems,arenotedandcan
becorrected.Inspectthemachinefrequentlyduring
break-inforsignsofoilleakage,loosefasteners,orany
othermalfunction.
Toensureoptimumperformanceofthebrakesystem,
burnish(break-in)thebrakesbeforeusingthemachine.
Toburnishthebrakes,rmlyapplythebrakesanddrive
themachineatmowingspeeduntilthebrakesarehot,
asindicatedbytheirsmell.Anadjustmenttothebrakes
mayberequiredafterbreak-in;refertoAdjustingthe
Brakes.
StartingandStoppingthe
Machine
Note:Inspecttheareasbeneaththemowerstobe
certaintheyareclearofdebris.
Starting
Important:Donotuseetherorothertypesof
startinguid.
1.Besuretheparkingbrakeisset,theraise/lower
mowcontrolisdisengaged,andthefunctional
controlisintheneutralposition.
2.Removeyourfootfromthetractionpedalandmake
surethepedalisintheneutralposition.
3.MovethethrottlelevertotheSlowposition.
4.InsertthekeyintotheswitchandrotateittoOn.
HolditintheOnpositionuntiltheglowplug
indicatorlightgoesoff(approximately6seconds).
5.ImmediatelyturntheignitionkeytotheStart
position.Releasethekeywhentheenginestarts
andallowittomovetotheOnposition.Movethe
throttlecontroltoSlow.
Important:Topreventoverheatingofthe
startermotor,donotengagethestarterlonger
than10seconds.After10secondsofcontinuous
