Toachieveaconsistent,highquality–of–cutanda
uniformaftercutappearance,itisimportantthatthe
reelspeedcontrol(locatedonthemanifoldblockunder
thecovertotheleftoftheseat)becorrectlyset.
Adjustthereelspeedcontrolasfollows:
1.Selecttheheight-of-cutatwhichthecuttingunits
areset.
2.Choosethedesiredgroundspeedbestsuitedfor
conditions.
3.Usingtheappropriategraph(See
Figure37)for5,8,
11,or14bladecuttingunits,determinetheproper
reelspeedsetting.

Toassistinaligningthemachineforsuccessivecutting
passes,itissuggestedthefollowingbedonetotheNo.
2andNo.3cuttingunitbaskets:
1.Measureinapproximately5inches(12.7cm)from
theouteredgeofeachbasket.
2.Eitherplaceastripofwhitetapeorpaintaline
ontoeachbasketparallelingtheouteredgeofeach
basket(

TrainingPeriod
Beforemowinggreenswiththemachine,itis
recommendedthatyoundaclearareaandpractice
startingandstopping,raisingandloweringthecutting
units,turning,etc.Thistrainingperiodwillbe
benecialtotheoperatoringainingcondenceinthe
performanceofthemachine.
BeforeMowing
Inspectthegreenfordebris,removetheagfromthe
cup,anddeterminethebestdirectiontomow .Basethe
directiontomowonthepreviousmowingdirection.
