Alwaysdisconnectthenegative(black)battery
cablebeforedisconnectingthepositive(red)

beforeconnectingthenegative(black)cable.
StoringtheBattery
Ifthemachinewillbestoredmorethan30days,removethe
batteryandchargeitfully.Eitherstoreitonashelforonthe
machine.Leavethecablesdisconnectedifitisstoredonthe
machine.Storethebatteryinacoolenvironmenttoprevent
thebatteryfromdischargingrapidly.Topreventthebattery
fromfreezing,makesureitisfullycharged.Thespecic
gravityofafullychargedbatteryis1.265to1.299.
CheckingtheFuses
Thefusesarelocatedunderthecontrolpanel.Accessthem
throughthesidepanelcover(Figure70).Toopentheside
panelcover,releasethe2latchesandpulloutonit.
Ifthemachinestopsorhasotherelectricalsystemissues,
checkthefuses.Graspeachfuseinturnandremovethem
oneatatime,checkingtoseeifanyareblown.Ifyouneed
toreplaceafuse,alwaysusethesametypeandamperage
ratedfuseastheoneyouarereplacing,otherwiseyoucould
damagetheelectricalsystem(refertothedecalnexttothe
fuses(Figure71)foradiagramofeachfuseanditsamperage).
Note:Ifafuseblowsfrequently,youprobablyhaveashort
intheelectricalsystemandshouldhaveitservicedbya
qualiedservicetechnician.
