StoppingtheEngine
1.DisengagethePTO,movethemotioncontrolleversto
theneutrallockedposition,settheparkingbrake,and
movethethrottlelevertotheSlowposition.
2.TurntheignitionkeytotheOffposition(Figure15).
Waitforallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
3.Removethekeybeforetransportingorstoringmachine.
Important:Makesuretoremovethekeyasthe
fuelpumporaccessoriesmayrunandcausethe
batterytolosecharge.
CAUTION
Childrenorbystandersmaybeinjuredifthey
moveorattempttooperatethetractorwhile
itisunattended.
Alwaysremovetheignitionkeyandsetthe
parkingbrakewhenleavingthemachine
unattended,evenifjustforafewminutes.
DrivingtheMachine
Thethrottlecontrolregulatestheenginespeedasmeasured
inrpm(revolutionsperminute).Placethethrottlecontrolin
theFastpositionforbestperformance.Alwaysoperateinthe
Fastthrottlepositionwhenmowing.
CAUTION
Themachinecanturnveryrapidly.Youmaylose
controlofitandcausepersonalinjuryordamage
tomachine.
•Usecautionwhenmakingturns.
•Slowthemachinedownbeforemakingsharp
turns.
1.Releasetheparkingbrake;refertoReleasingthe
ParkingBrake(page20).
Note:Theenginewillkillifthetractioncontrollevers
aremovedwiththeparkingbrakeengaged.
2.Movetheleverstothecenter,unlockedposition.
3.Drivethemachineasfollows:
•Togostraightforward,slowlypushthemotion
controlleversforward(Figure16).
•TogoStraightbackward,slowlypullthemotion
controlleversrearward(Figure16).
•Toturn,slowthemachinebypullingbackonboth
leversandthenpushforwardontheleveronthe
oppositesidefromwhichyouwanttoturn(Figure
16).
•Tostop,pullthemotioncontrolleverstothe
neutralposition.
Note:Thefartheryoumovethetractioncontrol
leversineitherdirection,thefasterthemachinewill
moveinthatdirection.

SettingtheParkingBrake.Remembertoremovethekeyfrom
theignitionswitch.
