alocationwheretemperaturesareextremelyhigh,thebattery
willrundownmorerapidlythanifthemachineisstoredina
locationwherethetemperatureiscool.
Keepthetopofthebatterycleanbywashingitperiodically
withabrushdippedinammoniaorbicarbonateofsoda
solution.Flushthetopsurfacewithwateraftercleaningit.
Donotremovethellcapswhilecleaningthebattery.
Thebatterycablesmustbetightontheterminalstoprovide
goodelectricalcontact.
Ifcorrosionoccursattheterminals,disconnectthecables,
negative(-)cablerst,andscrapetheclampsandterminals
separately.Connectthecables,positive(+)cablerst,and
coattheterminalswithpetroleumjelly.
WARNING
Batteryterminalsormetaltoolscouldshortagainst
metalmachinecomponentscausingsparks.Sparks
cancausethebatterygassestoexplode,resulting
inpersonalinjury.
Whenremovingorinstallingthebattery,donot
allowthebatteryterminalstotouchanymetal
partsofthemachine.
Donotallowmetaltoolstoshortbetween
thebatteryterminalsandmetalpartsofthe
machine.
