youmaydamagethetransmission.Thebypass
valvesmustbeopenwheneveryoupushortow
themachine.
1.Openthehoodandlocatethebypassvalves
(Figure67)onthetopofpump,behindthe
batteryandstorageboxes.

2.Rotateeachvalve3turnscounter-clockwiseto
openandallowtheoiltobypassinternally.
Note:Donotopenmorethan3turns.Because
uidisbypassed,youcanslowlymovethe
machinewithoutdamagingthetransmission.
3.Closethebypassvalvesbeforestartingthe
engine.
4.Torqueto70N∙m(52ft-lb)toclosethevalve.
Important:Topushortowthemachineinreverse,
youmustbypassthecheckvalveinthe4-wheel
drivemanifold.Tobypassthecheckvalve,
connectahoseassemblytothereversetraction
pressuretestport,locatedonthehydrostat,and
ontheportlocatedbetweenportsM8andP2on
thereartractionmanifold,whichislocatedbehind
thefronttire.Thehoseassemblyincludes1hose
(PartNo.95-8843),2couplerttings(PartNo.
95-0985),and2hydraulicttings(PartNo.340-77).
