Pre-MaintenanceSafety
•Beforeadjusting,cleaning,repairing,orleaving
themachine,dothefollowing:
–Parkthemachineonalevelsurface.
–Pressdownandholdtheengine-speedswitch
tosettheenginetolow-idlespeed.
–Disengageandlowerthecuttingunits.
–Ensurethatthetractionisinneutral.
–Engagetheparkingbrake.
–Shutofftheengineandremovethekey.
–Waitforallmovingpartstostop.
–Allowmachinecomponentstocoolbefore
performingmaintenance.
•Ifthecuttingunitsareinthetransportposition,
usethepositivemechanicallockandthestorage
lanyards(ifavailable)beforeyouleavethe
machineunattended.
•Ifpossible,donotperformmaintenancewhilethe
engineisrunning.Keepawayfrommovingparts.
•Usejackstandstosupportthemachineor
componentswhenrequired.
•Carefullyreleasepressurefromcomponentswith
storedenergy.
PreparingtheMachinefor
Maintenance
1.EnsurethatthePTOisdisengaged.
2.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface.
3.Engagetheparkingbrake.
4.Lowerthecuttingunit(s)ifnecessary.
5.Shutofftheengineandwaitforallmovingparts
tostop.
6.TurnthekeytotheSTOPpositionandremoveit.
7.Allowmachinecomponentstocoolbefore
performingmaintenance.
LiftingtheMachine
Usethefollowingaspointstoliftthemachine:
Frontofthemachine—attheframeofthemachine,
forwardofthewheel-drivemotors(Figure71)
Important:Donotsupportthemachineatthe
wheel-drivemotors.Keeptheliftingequipment
clearofhydraulictubingandhoses.
