Engine Replacement
Note: The following procedure for removing and
installing the engine was performed on a
Kohler 29 HP EFI engine. You can follow the
same procedures for removing other engines
from the Z Master G3, 3000, 5000, and 6000
Series units.
Engine Removal
1. Remove the battery negative and positive cables.
Remove the battery from the frame.
2. On tilt seats, lift the seat up, or non-tilt seats, slide
the seat forward and turn the fuel shut off valve to
the OFF position (Fig. 219).

4. Remove the 3 carriage bolts and nuts retaining the
RH bumper to the frame (Fig. 221).

3. Raise the machine in the rear and support it with
jack stands (Fig. 220).
