CAUTION
Ifthesafety-interlockswitchesare
disconnectedordamaged,themachinecould
operateunexpectedly,causingpersonal
injury.
Donottamperwiththeinterlockswitches.
Checktheoperationoftheinterlock
switchesdailyandreplaceanydamaged
switchesbeforeoperatingthemachine.
1.MovethePTOswitchtoOFFpositionand
removeyourfootfromtractionpedal.
2.RotatethekeyswitchtotheSTARTposition.If
theenginecranks,proceedtostep3.
Note:Ifenginedoesnotcrank,theremaybea
malfunctioninthesafety-interlocksystem.
3.Withtheenginerunning,risefromtheseatand
setthePTOswitchtotheONposition.The
engineshouldshutoffwithin2seconds.Ifthe
engineshutsoff,proceedtostep4.
Important:Ifenginedoesnotshutoff,
thereisamalfunctioninthesafety-interlock
system.RefertoyourauthorizedToro
distributor.
4.WiththeenginerunningandthePTOswitchset
totheOFFposition,raiseofftheseatandpress
thetractionpedal.Theengineshouldshutoff
within2seconds.Ifengineshutsoff,proceed
tostep5.
Important:Ifenginedoesnotshutoff,
thereisamalfunctioninthesafety-interlock
system.RefertoyourauthorizedToro
distributor.
5.Engagetheparkingbrake.Withtheengine
runningandthePTOswitchsettotheON
position,pressthetractionpedal.Theengine
shouldshutoffwithin2seconds.Ifengineshuts
off,theswitchisoperatingcorrectly;theinterlock
systemisreadyformachineoperation.
Important:Ifenginedoesnotshutoff,
thereisamalfunctioninthesafety-interlock
system.RefertoyourauthorizedToro
distributor.
AdjustingtheRollBar
WARNING
Arollovercancauseinjuryordeath.
Keeptherollbarintheraisedlocked
position.
Usetheseatbelt.
WARNING
Thereisnorolloverprotectionwhentheroll
barislowered.
Donotoperatethemachineonuneven
groundoronahillsidewithaloweredroll
bar.
Lowertherollbaronlywhenabsolutely
necessary.
Donotweartheseatbeltwhentherollbar
islowered.
Driveslowlyandcarefully.
Raisetherollbarassoonasclearance
permits.
Checkcarefullyforoverheadclearances
(e.g.,branches,doorways,orelectrical
wires)beforedrivingunderanyobjects
anddonotcontactthem.
LoweringtheRollBar
Important:Lowertherollbaronlywhen
absolutelynecessary.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,engagethe
parkingbrake,lowerthecuttingunit,shutoffthe
engine,andremovethekey.
2.Removethecotterpinsandpinsfromtheroll
bar(Figure26).
3.Lowertherollbarandsecureitinplacewiththe
pinsandcotterpins(Figure26).
