Disassembly of Rear Axle 4WD Motor DO NOT attempt to disassemble the spring and other
parts from the center bore of the cylinder block. The
1. Clean outside of motor thoroughly. e
ntire rotating assembly (Item 14) should be replaced if
any of its components are damaged.
2. Clamp shaft in a protected jaw vise with back plate
en
d up. 7. Remove camplate insert (Item 5) from housing.
3. Remove six capscrews (Item 1) from back plate 8. Remove retaining ring (Item 13) from housing.
(Item 2).
9. Remove spacer (Item 11) from housing.
4. Use a plastic mallet and tap the back plate (Item 2)
to loosen it. 10
. Remove drive shaft (Item 12) with thrust bearing
from housing.
5. Remove o-ring (Item 3) from back plate.
11. Remove retaining rings (Item 8) from shaft and
6. Remove complete rotating assembly (Item 14) from r
emove thrust races (Item 9) and thrust bearing
housing assembly. (Item 10).
