Piston Ported Engine
(R tek Engines Only)
The piston ported en
ine does not use the “click" type
adjustment. For the piston ported en
ines, the
overnor is adjusted by bendin
the bracket that the
overnor sprin
is attached to. Otherwise, the function
of the
overnor is the same (see Fi
ure 40).

Presetting the Governor
(DuraForce Engines Only)
Note: Each “click” of the
overnor collar represents
approximately 50-75 RPMs.
1. Turn the collar clockwise to increase sprin
tension
(and en
ine RPMs) or counterclockwise to
decrease sprin
tension and RPMs. (See Fi
ure
39.) Preset the
overnor collar 3 or 4 clicks
clockwise.
2. Use a tachometer to check en
ine speed; 2900 ±
300 RPM for DuraForce en
ines on mowers.
For R tek (piston ported) en
ines refer to the
specification pa
es.
Should the
overnor link (A) be bent or replaced,
adjustment will be necessary. (See Fi
ure 41.)

Then move the air vane until the throttle is full open.
The air vane must not contact the CD i
