Note: Each “click” of the

overnor collar represents
approximately 50-75 RPMs.
1. Turn the collar clockwise to increase sprin
g
tension
(and en
g
ine RPMs) or counterclockwise to
decrease sprin
g
tension and RPMs. (See Fi
g
ure
39.) Preset the
g
overnor collar 3 or 4 clicks
clockwise.
2. Use a tachometer to check en
g
ine speed; 2900 ±
300 RPM for DuraForce en
g
ines on mowers.
For R tek (piston ported) en
g
ines refer to the
specification pa
g
es.
Should the
g
overnor link (A) be bent or replaced,
adjustment will be necessary. (See Fi
g
ure 41.)
