6. Remove the float hin
e pin, the inlet valve needle
assembly (with its clip), and the float (see Fi
ure
25). Discard the needle and clip.

7. Inspect the float for cracks or deterioration of the
cork (see Fi
ure 26).

8. Remove the brass inlet fuel valve seat and discard
it. (See Fi
ure 27.)

9. Remove the hi
h speed jet (A) from the nozzle (B).
It is best to clean the nozzle in place. If the nozzle
is not sealed into the carburetor body, the air/fuel
mixture will be affected (see Fi
ure 28).
Note: There are two white nylon plu
s in each
carburetor. Do not attempt to remove them or the
carburetor will be dama
ed.

Cleaning and Inspection
1. With the carburetor completely disassembled,
thorou
hly clean all parts in a parts cleanin
solution. Do not soak the carburetor. Leave it in
the solvent only lon
enou
h to clean it. Inspect
for wear or deterioration. Use a spray can of
carburetor cleaner with the hose, and flush all
passa
es with cleaner. Blow dry all carburetor
passa
es with compressed air.

wire is used, never enlar

restrict any passa
eway in the carburetor.
2. Always check the carburetor mountin
flan
e and
the fuel bowl mountin
flan
e to be sure they are
smooth and undama
ed.
