temperatureconditions,thebatteryelectrolytemay
requireaddingwater.
1.Removethestoragecompartment;referto
RemovingtheStorageCompartment(page40).
2.Removeanycorrosionfromthebatteryterminals
usingawirebrushandtopreventfurther
corrosion.
Note:Checktheconditionofthebatterycables.
Installnewcableswhencurrentonesare
showingsignsofwearordamageandtighten
anylooseconnectionsasnecessary.
3.ApplyGrafo112Xskin-overgrease(ToroPart
No.505-47)orpetroleumjellytotheterminals.
4.Cleanthebatterycompartment.
5.Removethecellcoversandifneededadd
distilledwatertoaheight15mmbelowthetop
ofthebattery.Installthecellcovers.
6.Installthestoragecompartment;referto
InstallingtheStorageCompartment(page40).
CheckingtheElectrical
System

Inspectallelectricalconnectionsandcablesand
replaceanywhicharedamagedorcorroded.Spraya
good-qualitywaterinhibitorontoexposedconnections
topreventmoistureingress.
