Note:Thisprocedurerequires2peopletoperform.Ensure
thatthepersonmakingtheconnectionswearstheproperface
protectionandprotectiveglovesandclothing.
1.EnsurethatallcontrolsareintheNeutralpositionand
thattheparkingbrakeisintheOnposition.
2.Sitintheoperatorseatandhavetheotherpersonmake
theconnections.
Note:Ensurethatthejumperbatteryisa12-volt
battery.
Important:Ifyouareusinganothermachine
forpower,ensurethatthe2machinesarenot
touchingeachother.
3.Preparetostarttheengine;refertosteps1through6
ofStartingtheEngine(page25).
4.Removethecoverfromthejumppost(Figure56).

than30secondsatonetime.Wait30secondsbefore
operatingthestartermotortocoolthemotorandto
buildupthechargeinthebattery.
8.Whentheenginestarts,havetheotherperson
disconnectthenegative(-)jumpercablefromtheframe
andthendisconnectthepositive(+)jumpercable.

Important:Alwayskeepthebatteryfullycharged.This
isespeciallyimportanttopreventbatterydamagewhen

posts.
Note:Connecttheleadsofthebatterychargerto
batterypostsbeforeconnectingthechargertothe
electricalsource.
2.Connectthepositiveleadofthebatterychargertothe
positive-batterypost(Figure57).
