column(Figure8).Usethelightswitchtoilluminate
theheadlights.Pushupthelightswitchturnonthe
headlightsorpushdowntheswitchtoturnoffthe
lights.
HourMeter
Thehourmeterislocatedtotheleftofthelightswitch
(Figure8).Usethehourmetertondoutthetotal
numberofhourstheenginehasrun.Thehourmeter
startstofunctionwheneveryouturnthekeyswitchto
theONpositionoriftheengineisrunning.
BatteryLight
Thebatterylightislocatedtotherightofthesteering
columnandabovetheoillight(Figure8).Thebattery
lightturnsonforseveralsecondswhenyourststart
theengine,andthenturnsoffoncetheengineis
running.Ifthelightremainsonwhiletheengineis
running,thealternator,battery,orelectricalsystem
isdamaged.
EngineOil-PressureLight
Theengineoil-pressurelightislocatedtotherightof
thesteeringcolumn(Figure8).Theoillightwarns
theoperatoriftheengine-oilpressuredropsbelowa
safeleveltooperatetheengine.Ifthelightcomes
onandremainslit,shutofftheengineandcheckthe
engine-oillevel.Addoiltotheengineifnecessary;
refertoCheckingtheEngine-OilLevel(page21).
Note:Theoillightmayicker;thisisnormalandno
actionneedstobetaken.
EngineCoolant-TemperatureLight
Theenginecoolant-temperaturelightislocatedto
therightofthebatteryandtheengineoil-pressure
lights,andabovetheglow-plug-indicatorlight(Figure
8).Theenginecoolant-temperaturelightwarnsthe
operatorthatthecoolanttemperatureoftheengineis
toohottocontinueoperatingtheengine(theengine
isoverheating).Shutofftheengineandallowthe
machinetocooldown.Checkthecoolantleveland
thebeltstothefanandwaterpump.Fillthecoolant
reservoirwithcoolantasneededandreplaceany
worn,damaged,orslippingbelts.
Important:Iftheengineoverheatingproblem
persists,contactyourAuthorizedToroDealerfor
diagnosticsandrepair.
Glow-Plug-IndicatorLight
Theglow-plug-indicatorlightislocatedtotherightof
thebatteryandtheengineoil-pressurelights,and
belowtheenginecoolant-temperaturelight(Figure
8).Theglow-plug-indicatorlightilluminatesredwhen
yourotatethekeyswitchtotheONpositionandthe
engineiscold.Thelightindicatesthattheglowplugs
areoperating.

Thekeyswitch(Figure8),isusedtorunandshut
offtheengine,andhas3positions:OFF,ON,and
