ELECTRICAL
The PTO Switch is located on the control panel on the
left side of the operator (Fig. 384).

1. Disengage the PTO, set the parking brake, and turn
the ignition to OFF. Remove the key.
2. Remove the 4 screws holding the control panel to
the fuel tank.
3. Disconnect the wiring harness from the PTO switch.
4. Press in the locking tabs, on each side of the switch,
and pull the switch out of the control panel.
5. Verify that there is continuity between the
appropriate terminals in the ON and OFF positions
(Fig. 385).
Contacts inside the switch electrically connect various
terminals in both “On” and “Off” position. When the
PTOispulledouttotheONposition,currentowsto
the electric clutch and it engages. When the switch is
pushedintotheOFFposition,currentowsthroughthe
PTO switch to the Park Brake switch as part of the circuit
used to ensure safe starting.
