Xgfhenyou connect a D-VHS or A/V HD device to the TV:
The remote control keys (REW, PAUSE, PLAY,FE etc.) are
automatically actNated to allow control of live TV.
TheTV Guide On Screen system is automatically configured
to allow recording to the device. See Chapters 5 and 7 fbr
details. Also see page 50 fbr details on setting the A/V HD
device skip time.
Some programs may not be recorded due to copy protection
restrictions.
IEEE-1394 device initialization
When you connect a new IEEE-1394 device to the TV and t_trn
it on, the device in_mediatdy announces its presence to the TV
(and other networked IEEE-1394 devices, if any), and the
_bllowingdevice initialization screen automatically appears.
Note: With some devices,/7 rn_y _v_ketap to one r,wbute
kJr this screen to appear:
1. {fyou have connected your IEEE-1394 device to an analog
input also, use the &V< _ buttons to sdect the input in
the ANALOG INPUT USED fidd; o_herwise, leave it set
to '<None/' (See 'qUsinganalog-compatible IEEE-!394
devices" on page 22.)
2. {fyou want to label the device, highlight EDIT LABEL and
press ENTER.
3. Press the &_< _ buttons to select a character _brthe first
space and then press ENTER.
4. Repeat step 3 to enter the rest of the characters.
5. Highlight SAVE and press ENTER to save the in_brmation.
