The dosed caption mode has two opuons:
* Capcions_An or>screen display of the diaIogue, narration,
and sound effects of TV programs and videos that are
closed captioned (usually marked "CC" in program guides)_
* Text An on-screen display ofirdbrmacion no[ related to
the current program, such asweather or stock data (when
provided by individual stations).
To view captions or text:
1. Press MENU and open the PREFERENCES menu.
2. Highlight CLOSED CAPTION MODE and then press
to open the merm sidebar.
3. Press Y to highlight the desired dosed caption mode and
then press ENTER.
* To view captions:
Highlight CC1, CC2, CC3, or CC4. (CC1 displays
translatior_ of the primary
language in your area.)

Advanced closed captions
You can customize the dosed caprion display characteristics I>y
changir_g [he background color and the text size, G,Te, edge,
and color.

To reset the closed caption characteristics:
1. Highlight RESET in step 4 above, and press ENTER.
2. Highlight SAVE and press ENTER. A11characteristics are
sec to "AUTO."
Digital closed eaptie s
You can use the DigitaI CC/Audio sdeccor to sdec_ digital
dosed caprior_services (if"available), which will _emporarily
override closed captions _brdigital charmds only. When such
services are not available, the Digital CC/Audio sdeccor presents
a defimk list of services. If the selected service is not available,
the next best service will be used instead.
