Setting up SNMP Network Service
In SNMP Network Service, you can enable or disable the SNMP to monitor the device status using a network
monitoring utility. If an administrator wants to monitor the device status with a monitoring utility, programmed to
match the MIB, you must enable the SNMP and SNMP Traps.
Item name Description
1 Enable SNMP Select whether SNMP monitoring with MIB is enabled or disabled. [Enable] is
set as the default.
2 Enable IPv6 SNMP Select whether IPv6 SNMP monitoring with MIB is enabled or disabled.
[Enable] is set as the default.
3 Read Community Enter the SNMP read community name for the SNMP access. You can enter up
to 31 alphanumerical characters and symbols. “public” is set as the default.
It is recommended to change the default Read Community name for security reasons.
If changing the Read Community name, match the setting with the applications in use. Otherwise,
applications that use MIB will become unavailable.
When you leave the [Read Write Community] option blank, the SNMP communication between the SNMP
Browser of the Client computer and this equipment will be disabled.
4 Read Write Community Enter the SNMP Read Write community name for the SNMP access. You can
enter up to 31 alphanumerical characters and symbols. “private” is set as the
default.
It is recommended to change the default Read Write Community name for security reasons.
If changing the Read Community name, match the setting with the applications in use. Otherwise,
applications that use MIB will become unavailable.
