9. I/O ports
This option controls settings for the serial and parallel ports.
NOTE: Do not assign the same interrupt request level and I/O address to the serial port
and PC card.
(a) Serial
Use this option to set the COM level for the serial port.
Not used Does not assign the serial port.
COM1 Assign the serial ports (Default)
COM2 to COM4 Assign the serial ports
(b) Parallel
This option sets the interrupt request level and I/O port base address for the
parallel port.
When the parallel port mode (see settings below) is set to ECP and “Not
used” is selected in Parallel, OPTION window is opened and DMA can be
set.
10. Drives I/O
This option displays the address/interrupt level for hard disk drive and optical drive.
It is only for information and cannot be changed.
(a) Built-in HDD
This option displays the setting of the address and interrupt level of the HDD.
This cannot be changed.
(b) CD-ROM
This option displays the setting of the address and interrupt level of the
installed drive. This cannot be changed. Even if an installed drive is not CD-
ROM drive, “CD-ROM” is displayed.
11. PCI Bus
This item displays the interrupt level for the Card Bus. It is for information only and
cannot be changed.
