NOTE
The source rod should always be in the SAFE position
when the gauge is not in use.
Instructions for Taking a Standard Count
The standard count consists of 2 separate 2-minute counts. The first count
occurs with the handle in SAFE position.
During the second part the handle is in background position and the source
rod end protrudes about 1 ½ inches into the prepared hole. This is also
different than other nuclear density gauges.

. Prepare the test site as instructed on page 4–2.

Take a standard count by pressing the 〈STD〉 key.

Press 〈YES〉 to start the standard count:

. Make sure the gauge is on the material to be measured and
ensure that the source rod in the SAFE position.
