6. MAINTENANCE
Cleaning your printer
To keep your TVS Proton operating at its best, you need
to clean it periodically.
Before cleaning:
1. Make sure the printer is switched off. Switch off
the mains power supply, unplug the power cord from the
electrical outlet.
2. Unplug the external power adaptor and interface cable from
the printer.
3. Remove paper/print media from the tractor.
For cleaning:
1. Open the Top cover and use a soft brush and carefully
brush away the dust from the carriage rail and the plate
below the Printhead (the front angle).
2. Clean the dust accumulated below the tractor using the
brush.
3. Clean the paper perforations accumulated on the paper
path using the brush.
4. Clean the outer case with soft, clean cloth.
Note
Do not use a hard or abrasive brush.
Do not use alcohol or thinner to clean the printer, since
these chemicals can damage the printer components as
well as the plastic casings.
Do not spill liquid/water on the printer mechanism or
electronic components.
Do not spray lubricants/oil on the carriage rail, since this
may gather dust and might affect the Printhead movement.
