2.6 Organisational measures
The necessary personal protective equipment must be provided by the operating
organisation. All safety devices that are fitted must be checked regularly. Safety glasses
and overalls must be worn during operation and cleaning to provide protection against
any splashes of chemical substances.
2.7 Sources of hazards
The following sources of hazards may arise during operation of the dispenser:
Attention! Failure to observe the following instructions may result in damage
and serious injuries, including fatality.
- Depending on the dispenser power set, the product may be pumped with a pressure of
up to 40 bar. The escape of the product from damaged pipe connections or
components may result in injuries and damage caused by the product spray.
- On initial commissioning and refilling the product reservoir, air inclusions in the product
may result in uncontrollable spurts of product from the conveying area. Only start
production once all the air has been bled from the pipes.
- Wear suitable protective clothing if chemical, corrosive or dangerous products are being
used. The safety regulations and manufacturer's instructions are to be followed and
observed. Ensure adequate ventilation or extraction. Take special safety precautions if
working with dangerous media, for example, provide eye flushing facilities if working
with corrosive chemicals.
- Only personnel with specialist knowledge and experience are allowed to work on
pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical devices.
2.8 Preparation for commissioning - visual inspection
The dispenser and the pipes connected are to be subjected to a visual inspection every
day, prior to starting work and at each shift change. If there is any doubt at that the unit
is not perfectly ready for operation, it must be shut down at once and inspected by a
suitably qualified person before it is used again.
