3.2 Starting up for the first time
Attention! Do not switch on the dispenser yet. If there is no product, there is a risk of
damage. Note section 2.3, Operating environment, prevention of material damage on
page 6. Even a brief period of dry running can lead to the stator being destroyed.
Attention! The dispenser and the drive unit may only be installed when the unit is
electrically dead. The motor take-off shaft must line up with the dispenser drive shaft. In
the event of incorrect installation there is a risk of increased wear and of metal being worn
off.
3.2.1 Feeding product for the first time
Preparation
• Switch off the dispenser drive and secure it against unauthorised switching on
• Observe the safety instructions
• Connect the supply of medium to the dispenser.
Bleed the dispenser (once the product has been fed in)
• Undo the bleed screw (14) with the washer (15) until product that is free of air bubbles
escapes from the bleed opening (B).
• Release the product admission pressure and wait until no more product escapes from
the bleed opening (B).
• Remove any product that has escaped and screw in the bleed screw (14) with the
washer (15).
Switching on the drive for the
dispenser
Attention! When the product is
pumped initially, there is a hazard
due to spurting of the product. Air
bubbles can cause uncontrollable
spurting out. Ensure that you stand
back a safe distance. It is
recommended that you wear
suitable protective clothing under
these circumstances.
