2 Safety
2.1 About these operating and maintenance instructions
These instructions are structured so that text and the related figure are on the same page
as far as possible. In this way the instructions can be understood quickly.
If reference is made to a component in a figure, the part has a key number.
The following symbols are used:
Attention! Failure to observe instructions marked with this symbol may result in damage
and serious injuries, including fatality.
2.2 Informal safety measures
- The operating instructions must always be kept in the place the machine is used.
- In addition to the operating instructions, the general and local regulations on accident
prevention as well as on the protection of the environment are to be provided and
observed.
- All information on the machine related to safety and hazards must be kept in a readable
condition.
2.3 Operating environment, prevention of damage
In order to prevent damage and to ensure the filling of the chambers that is required for
precise dosing, make sure that
- the dispenser is never operated without the medium (the stator will be destroyed),
- the feed and delivery side are never closed during operation.
- the dispenser is operated with a positive feed.
- there is an adequate primary pressure when pumping highly viscous products.
- when pumping without positive feed (primary pressure), no dry running or cavitation
occurs in the dispenser.
- the direction of rotation of the drive is always the same as the pumping direction of the
dispenser.
- the volumetric efficiency is >80 %.
