2.3 Adding oil to the system
1. Make sure that the vehicle is level.
2. If equipped, remove the filler plug from the top of the inlet control valve (Figure 26). If
there is no filler plug, remove the four socket head cap screws retaining the inlet control
valve and remove the inlet control valve from the compressor
3. Pour six (6) litres (1.6 US Gal.) of the supplied compressor oil into either the fill hole or the
large air intake opening.
4. Turn the compressor clutch clockwise with a ratchet and socket using the hex head cap
screw at the center of the compressor clutch.
5. Allow at least 10 minutes for the oil to drain into the tank, then check the level at the sight
glass at the front of the tank. It is important not to overfill the system.
7. Install and tighten the filler plug or install the inlet control valve on the compressor. Torque
the socket head cap screws to 25 ft-lb.
You must use the supplied compressor oil in this system. Failure to use this special oil
will result in damage to the compressor and will void your warranty.
