There is a head airbag on both sides of the

The location of the head airbags is indicated by the
marking "AIRBAG".
When triggered, the head airbag occupies the area
framed in red (deployment zone) → Fig. 32. For
this reason, never place or attach objects in this area

In the event of a side impact and certain frontal
collisions, the head airbag is deployed on both
sides.
In the event of side crashes and certain frontal
crashes, head airbags reduce the risk of injury to
front and rear seat occupants.
Transporting children
safely
Child seats reduce the risk of injury in the event of
an accident. Therefore, always use these seats
when transporting children!
Please note the following:

Child seats are classified into different groups
depending on the height, age and weight of the
child.
—
There are different fastening systems for
attaching child seats to the vehicle.
For safety reasons, child seats should always be
mounted in the rear seat.

from its range of accessories. These seats have
been designed and tested for use in Volkswagen
vehicles.

If children are not protected by a restraint system,
or not sufficiently protected, they can be seriously
or fatally injured. Therefore, please note the
following:

Do not transport any child under 12 years of
age (approx. 59 inches) or less than 150 cm tall
without using an appropriate child seat.
The country-specific regulations of the country
concerned must be taken into account. Please
note the country-specific provisions in this
regard.
•
Always protect children by using a suitable child
seat. The seat must be suitable for the height,
age and weight of the child.

Never transport several children at the same
time in the same child seat.
•
Only fit sun blinds on the windows that have
been specially approved for the vehicle.
•
Do not turn the sun visors towards the
windows when objects, e.g. a pen or the
garage door opener, are in the sun visors.
